Disabilities Ministry

OUR PURPOSE

Our goal is to create a more inclusive and active ministry for the whole church in which every person, of every ability, can participate and be a valued and valuable part of the community of faith.

If you have questions about the Disabilities Ministry program or are interested in joining the committee, please contact Angie Bateman, Committee Chair.

Disabilities Ministry Classroom

Our Disabilities Ministry Classroom is located in Room #4 and is open every Sunday morning beginning at 10:00am service.  The classroom gives individuals with disabilities who may not be able or wish to attend traditional 10:15 programming a fun and safe place to worship while allowing family members or caregivers to attend service. To register for this program please complete our participant registration form.

Sunday School & Youth Programming Support

Our team will work individually with caregivers and families to make modifications to traditional programming to provide a more inclusive, accessible, and integrated experience.

Adult Education

Please check the church calendar for both youth and adult educational opportunities on accessibility & disability inclusion including guest speakers and book studies!

Book Study & Discussion

Adult Ministries will be offering an educational study and discussion on the topic of Disabilities Awareness and the Church. We will have weekly topics that include references to the book by Amy Kenny, My Body Is Not A Prayer Request. Please join us as we learn more about how disabilities impact individuals, families, and how the community can be more inclusive. Classes will meet on Sunday mornings, from 9-10 am from April 7th-May 19th. Books will be available for purchase. For more information, please contact Angie Bateman.
