Sunday Morning Christian Education
Each Sunday morning at 9 am, there are no less than three concurrent education offerings for adults at FVPC. Every participant can choose from a “No-Prep” Bible Study class (topics vary), a class on Faith or Spirituality, and a Current Issues Forum. Topics for each class change from week to week. No advance registration is needed and everyone is welcome to drop-in to any class that interests them.

Adult Weekday, Saturday and Evening Christian Education
We have a number of classes in the evening and during the week for learning and growth! These include:
Wednesday Brown Bag Bible study
Want a sneak preview of Sunday’s sermon and the opportunity to share your ideas about the scripture for the coming Sunday? Then come to the Wednesday brown bag Bible study from noon to 1:00 pm in the Conference Room, and bring your lunch if you wish. The pastor who is preaching on the coming Sunday leads the discussion.
Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study
The women’s Bible study group meets for study, fellowship and prayer on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00 am in Room 1 from September until May. If you want to learn more, the church office can put you in touch with the coordinator.
Saturday morning Community of Faith
All men and women of the church are invited to join The Community of Faith adult study group, which meets on the second Saturday of the month, from 8:00-9:00 am in the Chapel Room. Coffee and refreshments are served. Currently, the history of FVPC’s involvement in social justice and civil rights activism is the focus of the study. Parish Associate Loy Williams coordinates this group.
Who is my neighbor? Women’s Book Group
In an effort to better answer the question “Who is my neighbor?”, this book club for women specifically includes diverse central characters from groups that have been marginalized and oppressed in our culture, written by authors from the same diversity group. The book club is an opportunity to expand our minds and hearts through reading great books, and participating in open and honest conversations in a safe and accepting environment. We meet on the 1st Monday of the month at 7pm at Lindsey Meyers’ home. Members and friends are welcome! Call the church office for more information.
Advent and Lent Midweek Supper and Worship
During the Season of Advent and Lent, there will be a mid-week worship service at 5:45 on Wednesday evenings with a potluck dinner (during Advent) or a soup supper (during Lent) beginning at 5:00pm. All are welcome, and there will be activities in the Great Hall for children during worship.
