I have been out of town this week serving that national church on the Committee on the Office of General Assembly as we get ready for the next biennial gathering that will take place in St. Louis this summer. Every time I come to these meetings a renewed sense of gratitude comes upon me for the reminder that we are not an “island” church, wrestling all alone with what it means to be the people of God in the 21st century, and for the committed, gifted, and spiritually-minded staff that serve us all in the national offices. They do a lot with very little, and I am grateful for their faithful stewardship of per capita resources.
That said, I am looking forward to being back in Geneva tomorrow and in worship with all of you on Sunday morning. Be safe in the weather that is coming. Grace and peace to you!
