Twice a year our choir presents a beautiful musical worship service. This Sunday, at both 8 am and 10:15 am, Joseph Haydn’s THE CREATION will be our sermon for the day. The music is sublime; children as well as adults adore watching the strings, piano, organ and horn play. All will be mesmerized with Haydn’s magnificent oratorio of praise – The Chancel Choir and the soloists will give us a lilting heart.
Haydn wrote his piece in 1789 and the lyrics and music are as relevant and lovely today as they were then. Sung in English, the lyrics are composed of segments from Genesis, Psalms, and the poetry of John Milton. The Creation is the story of the world’s beginning; it is a reminder to us that all of our earth and those who dwell upon it are created in God’s image and are to be praised!
You will want to be together in community for this special occasion – to sing, pray, confess, have children’s time, give, listen, exalt! Join with us this Sunday and enter into God’s sanctuary with thanksgiving and resounding praise!
