From Pastor Melinda

It will be an exciting worship this Sunday! Come meet and hear the Rev. Jan Edmiston! She will be preaching on the Lord’s Prayer – “Thy Will Be Done.” Jan is the Associate Executive Presbyter for Ministry for Chicago Presbytery. The Joyful Noise and Chancel Choir will add to the service playing and singing to the glory of God.

The adult education classes will feature Janet Bell who is speaking on “Deepening Interfaith Understanding.” The book class begins a new series on Adam Hamilton’s work,Forgiveness, which Beverlee Ludema leads. The Luke class will continue its study of this wonderful Gospel writer, led by John Jacobsma this week.

And, at four o’clock we will begin the Annual Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction event which benefits our youth for their mission trip to Belize. The items are plentiful and fun – beautiful and useful! The chili is always outstanding and delicious.

As you read this, I will have spent my first day in Florida on vacation…but I am still thinking about and praying for all of you! We will walk together no matter where we are on this Third Sunday of Lent. “Lent is a time to allow a fresh new taste of God.”
