Fox Valley Presbyterian Church provides a nurturing and safe environment in which children can experience and learn the Christian faith through a broad range of activities which appeal to the variety of ways through which children learn. Sunday morning activities are structured for infants and children through fifth grade.

Visiting for the first time? Please inform a Greeter or Usher that you are new and that you would like to be introduced to our Pastor for Children and Youth or a member of our Sunday School/Children’s Ministry staff.

Kids on a Mission

Kids on a Mission is a program for children in grades 1 through 5. It meets from 9:00 am to 9:50 am on Sunday morning in the Great Hall. Each session is stand alone, and children are welcome to come as they are able.

Children who participate in Kids on a Mission will work on a variety of hands-on mission projects, from pillowcases for our college students to Christmas cards for hospital patients. We hope your children will enjoy helping others through this new program.

If you have questions or comments, please contact Beth Morgan.

Sunday School

Infants to Age 2

Loving care is provided for our youngest children in our church nursery during both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services. Our nursery care provider is Sandy Lennartz who is experienced in early childhood education and has been supervising the church nursery since 2005. Sandy is often assisted by church volunteers as well. Pagers are available so that parents may be notified to return to the nursery if their child needs them.

Ages 3-5 (Kindergarten)

Young Children and Worship is an engaging curriculum developed by children’s ministry experts Sonja Stewart and Jerome Berryman. Children are encouraged to use their imagination as they reflect on the Biblical Stories told through the use of wooden figures representing the story’s characters. Our teachers have received special training in this teaching technique. A snack and creative play time is part of class time.

Grades 1-5

Keys to the Kingdom takes place September through May. There are six (4-5 week) rotations a year centered around learning the stories and themes of the Bible such as the story of Jonah, Moses, John the Baptist, Jesus, and Gentiles Welcome! Each rotations classes appeal to the variety of ways children learn, including art, drama, storytelling, science, games and physical activity.

A sample of the different workshops that might be included in a rotation:

  • Kingdom Cuisine (cooking)
  • Kingdom Rocks! (music)
  • Kingdom Serves (mission)
  • Kingdom Gamekeepers (nature)
  • Kingdom.com (computers)
  • Kingdom Theater (drama).

All participants must register when attending Sunday School. Please fill out the registration form below and return it to the church.
